Ph.D. Program

Ph.D. in ESR: Geography

The geography Department offers a Ph.D. degree in cooperation with the Environment Science & Management Program at Portland State University. The Ph.D. program is highly-individualized and relies on close coordination between the student and advisor, so it is important that a potential student begin by initiating contact with an advisor whose expertise and current interests might meet the student's needs. Students interested in the Ph.D. program with Geography focus should contact a potential dissertation advisor in the Geography Department. Applicants should follow the Geography Masters Progarm guidelines to submit their applications. Application to the program goes throught review by the Geography Graduate Admissions Committee and requires explicit acceptance of the student by a Geography faculty advisor.
